Biography

My name is Rebecca Humm and I am currently a 1st year BFA at The Ohio State University. I am from Milton, Georgia (metro Atlanta) and began dancing at the age of 6. I started my training at the Dancer's Studio Backstage, where I later joined their pre-professional company (Atlanta Dance Theatre) at age 10. From the beginning of my time in the company, to the end, I have worked with numerous outstanding choreographers including: Shelley Grames, Robert Gosnell, Kassandra Taylor Newberry, Lonnie Davis, Victoria Leigh and many more. I also partook in several summer intensives which consisted of American Ballet Theatre (2012), The Washington Ballet (2013 & 2015), Orlando Ballet (2014) and Alonzo King Lines Ballet (2016). Through my company, I was exposed to so many amazing opportunities, one of which being Regional Dance America. I started attending the South East Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) branch of RDA in 2013 and performed since 2017. I then graduated from Cambridge High School in May of 2017 and have been at Ohio State since August 2017. So far, my experience at this University has and will forever change my perspective of the way I live and where I want to be in the future. Being a dance major as well as being on the pre-physical therapy track, puts me in a situation where I am able to do what I love most: dancing and studying the body.
